One More Piece of Proof

So, you know how breathing fumes from oil-based paints will make you a little nutty? Add to it the fact that I'm already quite a bit nutty and this is what you get. I thought this was the funniest thing when I did it. I was sitting in the floor painting and looked down to see my gut (you know how it scrunches all up and looks like Buddha when you're sitting criss-cross-apple-sauce?). I thought it a great idea to use my paintbrush and make myself a cute little smiley face on my tummy with my belly button as the nose. Now, people, you know you can't really expect a lot from me anymore. This is who I am. Finally you know it. I'm the girl who is supposed to be a college educated adult but still finds it hilarious to draw on her own belly. If you didn't laugh at my blog tonight, call the coroner. You're probably dead!

If There Were Any Doubt

If there is one iota of doubt in your mind as to whether I am certifiably crazy or not, it is my mission to alleviate that tonight. This evening I did a little "do-it-yourselfing" and this was the result. If you have no sense of humor, you probably wouldn't be friend and wouldn't be reading my blog anyway!

My Latest Creation

So here's another gift for my friend's baby. Her name is going to be Alissa Brooke, so I made this tote bag with her monogram. Hope her mommy likes it. I think it's sweet. Oh, and this is the one that Cohen was "helping" me with. After he got over crying from being disciplined for painting my bag, he said "I just make a ciwrcul on dat bag for the baybee like ooo, Mommy." Okay, so that was kind of sweet, huh? The bag survived, so all's well that ends well.

When They're Quiet

I'll bet there are plenty of mothers out there that would tell you this. If your kids are quiet, they're probably into something! This is oh, so the case with Cohen and of course it was when Lane was his age too.

This morning, I was awake but not quite ready to peel myself out of my nice comfy bed (Isn't that the hardest thing to do?). Lane and Cohen were up and going strong but then I began to notice that I wasn't hearing any noise coming forth from Cohen. I layed there knowing I needed to go investigate, but still unable to pry myself up... until Lane said "Momma! Cohen got your bag and is painting on it!!" Horrible, horrible news this was. We're not talking about a Walmart bag or a lunch sack. This is a baby bag I've been making for a friend's baby shower and have put several hours into. OH! I swiftly dealt with Cohen and turned for a closer inspection of the damage. I hoped to determine that all was not lost, that somehow I could salvage my project. Luckily that was the case! Whew! Instead of painting with actual paint, he was using the textile medium. What are the chances? Thank you, Lord!
